  Cork disintegrated on opening - filtered decant. This wine is a surprise in many ways. Vibrant garnet color. Nose is fairly subdued but consists of cola, licorice and fresh green vegetables. Palate is sweet, like strawberry candy with black tea, a little herb. Still some dry tannins, finish is long and silky. A beautiful wine.

  Still alive. Definitely into the tertiary flavors. Some nice earthiness, old saddle leather, mushrooms, all lifted with some slight acidity. Somewhat complex nose is matched with a more narrow palate -- with a medium short finish. By way of comparison this is a bit like an aged third growth from a medium vintage.
