Not much color degradation which surprised me for a wine of this age. Initial aromas of black fruit and forest floor which later added a floral component (jasmine?). The palate was initially underwhelming with not much fruit and wood dominating the flavor profile. After an hour, it developed more complexity with a nice acid backbone and a long finish. Definitely in the drinking window now and it seems like it has more years ahead. Paired beautifully with roast chicken.

Unplanned Nicolas Potel Session (B&B Parkway): Tasted blind. Pop and pour. Drank over 2+ hours. Appearance is clear, pale intensity, garnet colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of fragrant earth, sweet spice, leather, black cherries, dark plums, and hints of soy sauce. Developed. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium alcohol (13%), dusty medium+ tannins, medium+ body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of black cherries, dark plums, slight prunes, leather, earth. Medium+ finish. Good quality Nuits wine. Dark feel. Drinking well now. Unlikely to improve much more with further age.

Corked - super musty/wet on the nose upon opening. Then just flat after that blew off, nothing either on nose or palate.
