  Translucent darker ruby. Nose of firm but scintillating violets, iron filings, astringent red and dark berry. Layers of red raspberry, fine integrated iron, powdery granite, briar, and earth on the satin-laced palate. Beautiful acidity and smoothed tannin. Long finish of echoing red fruit, ferric granules, sweet earth. Harmony, grace, depth, effortless balance.

  Barely translucent ruby color. Nose of red berry, extremely fragrant floral notes, forest floor, gently searing plum pits. Layers of surprisingly primary crunchy red berry fruit, lovely spice, iron filings, and grounding iodine on the satiny palate. Bright, refreshing acidity and serious but smoothed tannin. Longer finish of elegant, poised red fruit cut with noble tensile structure and iron granules. Aristocratic wine just entering its drinking window.

  Light pink/brick; gamey, animal nose; red fruit; opens with air; mid-body; balanced; fruit opening up; getting lush; long round finish. 17 UC Davis, 92 other

  This from a master- Why this is only a premier cru I have no idea - fruit and earth to perfection - Drunk with a lady who knows good fruit when she tastes it
