Monthly Tasting Group HWS #079; France: Loire red wines. (by AW): Very pleasant bouquet with some barnyard. On the palate juicy fruits, bell pepper, spiciness and vanilla. Soft and integrated tannin with still a firm bite. Concentrated and good length. This is a beautiful wine with still a future of a few years.

100% Cabernet Franc, old vines just outside Bonnezeaux. Rather full, dark and spicy for Anjou, excellent ripe fruit, undergrowth; on the palate still a bit hard but lovely velouté; a wine with spunk, needs food right now.

Big, fat, ripe Loire CF, pretty simple, pretty flaccid, and a let down after a long week.
