found one bottle of 06' in the mix with a bunch of 08' and 09', only from 06' left at the store'. Give it atleast 45 to breath before you drink or better yet decant, drinking nicely , bright acidity the tannins have mellowed on the finish and a medium length red berry spice midpalate, still plenty of fruit here , the nose is leather and crisp red berrries with hints of funky blue fruit and forest floor...89+

Fantastic wine - still drinking well - though as I noted below, I don't think they'll last past 2011. It seems like the tannins have given way to fruit (mixed berry yoghurt). The licorice is still there in a big way. I actually feel like I am eating tomato sauce on some level when I drink this wine. Great.

Wine is still drinking reasonably well, a bit more restrained than last time but there is spice, licorice, tobacco, dirt, and a nice dark chocolate finish. Had this with pizza and it rocked big time. I will drink my remaining 10 in the next year. These might not last beyond 2011.

(Tormaresca Neprica) #1; COLOR-dark; NOSE-nice black currant coming through; subtle paprika and white pepper action; quite floral; very typical Italian; I like it; TASTE-dark licorice in the back of my palate; very bitter dark tannins; dark chocolate; good black currant on the mid-palate; the finish is quite nice and long; I like the richness and I like that I'm tasting the soil (classic Italian wine); this has great structure; the Primitivo brings some nice spiciness; great licorice and black chocolate on the back-end; you can't ask for much more from a $9 wine; very dry; this is soil, licorice & tobacco based more than black currant; more of an earthy play; more sour than sweet; I like the complexity; WS-87; GV-88+
