Rockss and Fruit

    (Johannisof Vogelsang Riesling Kabinett) First 2001 of this producer I have tasted and it is awesome. Nose of peaches, minerals, chalk, pineapple. Very elegant and restrained nose. Chalky on the palate - - I mean way chalky - - but with nice peachy-pinapple fruit that is suggested in the nose. Long finish. This wine does not whack you over the head but is instead gets you with its subtleties. Really enjoyed this one. Prefer it over the Weil Kabinett. Less lollipoppy and more terroir diven. Excellent.
