  • Bottle opened two hours before lunch. Long cork of the own DO. Bottle 11.544 of 18.000. Milky notes of strawberry yogurt with hints of menthol and liquorice. Fairly straight with a slate mineral bed. In the mouth it has a dense texture with a strong imbalance between its structure and that high acidity. Also intense. Painfully tannic finish and pretty alcoholic, burning my suffering esophagus. Maybe another ten years are needed. Who knows. Less impressive Neo ever.

Final dolorosamente tánico y alcohólico, quemando a mi sufrido esófago. Quizás dentro de otros diez años. Quién sabe. Nunca me ha impresionado tan poco.

  • Serious wine. Dark ruby/magenta. Dark fruits, some florals, and a bit of menthol on the nose. Dark fruits accented by earth tones, leather, and a bit of forest floor. Very well integrated with soft tannins and an enduring finish...

  • Almost five years after my first tasting, this wine has opened up and is less restrained. There is dark plum, blackberry fruit that has a long expressive finish with notes of dark chocolate and spice. Structured and balanced, this wine is ready for prime time after a two hour decant. Another great example of being rewarded with a better wine with patience.

  • Must decant this for an hour minimum, but once you do, you have a fantastic, smooth Ribera del Duero that has dark, plum like fruit with strong structure and tannins. This is a restrained wine that teases you with each sip as you think it may open as a fruit bomb, but stays restrained and balanced.
