Still very young and very tannic. Very good concentration and yet not willing to open up. Certainly not ready to chat nor be friendly... One will have to patient, if cellared properly. However good potential. Cheers,
A very nice Corton, reflective of the warm vintage. The wine is very dark, almost black with hints or rouge. Upon opening, aromas of dark cherries and Asian spice jump from the bottle. It also tastes like its smells with a fair bit of concentration and silky smooth tannins. The tannins are very well integrated. However, I found the sweetness of the wine to be a bit overwhelming. The pronounced red liquorice notes seemed to overwhelm or mask the wine's subtle complexity. A really nice, but not exceptional, wine that is drinking perfectly right now.
This took almost 7 hours in the decanter to open up. Once open, the nose was a mix of elegance with some cherry notes countered by some brown sugar/caramelized aromatics. Pretty red fruit on the palate & as one would expect, the weight makes this effortless to enjoy. Surprisingly more tannic than acidic structure here, but the wine is perfectly fresh & bright. Once opened, a nice showing.
