94 is now a new vintage for white. This is a very good batard, the aging shredded some of the fatness away. Still vibrant acidity, honey, orange peel, minerally driven nose with a firm structure.

La Paulée de New York - The Verticals (Eventi Hotel - New York NY): Tasting, brief note. Lemon curd with gingerbread and many other layered, unfolding notes here. Complex wine with impressive weight and freshness for its age and the character of the vintage. Not for everybody, and I was told this bottle might have been the best of those opened today. My favorite white wine of the tasting.

La Paulée de NY Verticals Tasting (Kimpton Hotel Eventi): 05/01/94 This is what great aged white Burg should be. Kinda nice when you don't have to play the premox/ox lottery. A thrilling nose that is mature with so much layering, yet a brightness that portrays some freshness. Palate is decidedly layered and complex. A thrill, for sure. 97

Quick Impressions from the 2019 La Paulée Verticals Tasting (Eventi Hotel, New York): Deep yellow. Like the 2001, also ripe and tropical. A bit of citrus, some heat, short finish. Barely hanging on at age 25 and not very balanced or good. Drink...umm...15 years ago?!?
