Drunk in good company, no TN, from memory. Decanted for about one hour, drunk over the next two. Mushroomy on the nose at first, then it cleans up and shows mostly primary notes, but intriguing complexity, slowly gaining balance and finesse. Well balanced and beautifully fresh on the palate, which is also on the young side, but shows already great complexity and persistence. Beautiful and classy.
Darker than I expected. Purple center with dark red brick edge. The nose is floral with tobacco leaf, dark sour cherries, and rolling cranberry notes at the close. Less cab franc and merlot in the blend than I expected given the nose. The wine tastes lively which likely reflects the the 13% alcohol. Very balanced mouth feel and a soft round finish with lingering red fruit and acidity that shows up just as the train is leaving the station. Very nice. Drinking well now but should have legs for years+. Beautiful wine. 5+14+18+8=95
