As delicious as the first bottle. Very floral aromas, perfumed with violets. Also plenty of sweet fruit, cassis, and spice. Palate is fine and pleasing. Lovely soft sweet fruit. Well balanced tannins. Very long finish. Still has a big enough structure to go another 5 years.
Battle of the Bordeaux Blends 2 (Extra Space): Tasted blind. Aired in decanter for about an hour and drank over 2 hours. Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs. Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of earth, dark fruit, and some toasted vanilla oak. Developing. On the palate, dry, high acidity, medium+ alcohol, fine high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of earth, blackcurrant, blackberries, brambles. Long finish. Drinking blind, this felt almost like a Bordeaux wine, but somehow not quite it. Very good quality. This will improve over the next 5+ years.
