A very, very nice Sonoma Zinfandel blend. Brought to a Super Bowl party and didn't have time to give it a proper decanting, so the first couple of glasses were rather closed and tight. Never really showed a whole lot on the nose - but after a little air time, this opened up beautifully, revealing deep, luscious raspberry, cherry and blackberry flavors. The signature Sonoma notes of dried herbs and briar were clearly present on the long, polished finish. Full-bodied, yet very smooth and graceful - not at all hot or overdone. Excellent QPR at just under $20. 50+5+11+16+8=90
Good balance of smoke, spice, and fruit. Priced about right. Again, Ridge makes a solid wine - depending on what you want to spend, they're always dependable and you can get a little more than you pay for.
