Very dark purple colored with a crimson rim. Nose of dark fruit and leather. Tastes of plums, cassis, and tart cherries. Full bodied with lively acidity and smooth tannins. Ready to drink now but still has years to go.

Opaque purple. Plum, black raspberry and a high note of orange on the nose. Full bodied. Acidity is greater than tannis which made it pair better with food. My only bottle but if I had more, I’d drink them up soon. As an aside, this was the tightest cork I’ve ever pulled with the ah-so which I used fearing that cork might break due to age.

Lots of black plum and cassis with lots of concentration and moderate structure. Started off ultra modern, but 20 minutes after opened this was charming and well balanced. That held for close to two hours, at which point it was shortening and losing freshness. Probably slightly better 2-5 years ago.
Easy to identify that this is 50% Tazzelenghe, 25% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot. Comes across very much like a modern styled Bordeaux.

Made using techniques in Veneto where harvested grapes are dried and grape must is fermented twice, only here using 50% Tazzelenghe, 25% Merlot, and 25% Cabernet Sauvignon. The goal is to make an exceedingly dark and dense wine that is near viscous in texture and concentration. This can also make a wine that has alcoholic heat, a heaviness in the body, or a harshness or bitterness in the tannin, all of which are mildly noticeable in this wine. However, such wines may achieve a wonderful roundness and integration after being aged for 15 to 20 years, and merit a score well above 93.

(REAL Moschioni) Real Dear Friends, Two knock-out Italian wines in one day (the Villa Fidelia and now this) and both are worth serious attention. This is another wine I’ve been trying to get for a while (since last summer) but it is completely sold out on the wholesale level and there is none to be had. I’ve been fortunate to enjoy this wine twice already and each experience has been one where words don’t allow the proper expression. I finally received an allocation a few minutes ago and it was definitely worth the wait... The Moschioni bandwagon comes to an end with their most popular wine, the Real. If you’ve been curious about this producer but have been unwilling to plonk down $100 or more for the experiment, now is the time at almost half the price of the other wines. This wine is almost guaranteed to make you sit back and wonder how he does this with Tazzelenghe - an obscure indigenous varietal that few have ever seen outside of Friuli? Tazzelenghe produces an explosive wine that will make you see scenes of the Magical Mystery Tour with your eyes wide open. An amazing beverage and unlike anything else in the wine-world. I hope as many of you as possible take the plunge on this as it will awaken your senses to something that is so real you can taste it (sorry, couldn’t help myself): VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED for style, expression and relative rarity This parcel is directly fro the source with perfect provenance: 2004 Moschioni “Real” Colli Orientali Please give us your maximum number up to 12 and we will allocate accordingly. Silky smooth with dried raspberry, a touch of strawberry and tart cherry. Delicious!
