  • great wine! If served blind, I would never guess it to be 16 years old. Nice vanilla and black fruits on the nose. smooth tannins. Fairly dark red colour, only small signs of aging in color. Will definitely live longer than suggested drinking window until 2021. very good structure and balance.

  • Decanted for 3 hours. Powerful 'green' nose. big fruits with still powerful but elegant tannins. Long. pencil shavings on middle, smooth fruits on end..

  • Decanted for about 4 hours, drunk with slow roasted lamb shoulder. Still dark garnet in color, little little age. Nose dark fruit. Soft intense fruit on the palate, long with intense liquorish finish. A beautifully integrated bottle of wine, drinking well but has another 5 years still in the bottle.

  • Served blind. Near purple, very full colour. Lush nose of black to blue fruit and expenve oak, very sweet vanilla. Cleary bigger and hotter than the previous wine. A suggestion of malbec isn't unreasonable. I wonder about a Cal-cab or possibly a chilean cab or carmenere. Nt to my taste, but this is at least reasonably balanced - a bit confected at the moment but this might mellow with time. A touch of heat on the finish but this is more of an impression than anything firmer. It doesn't calm during the evening but it does grow on be a bit and certainly improves with food. Not my cup of tea but at least *** of its type.
