A soft ripeness. Subtle cherry fruit comes in waves along with some faint mushroom. Acid in the background holds it together. Lots of elegance in the finish.

Opened 5 hours before consuming. This felt a bit more evolved than it should have been. Could have been a bad bottle but no visible signs. On the nose: prunes, plum, macerated cherries, mushrooms, and earthiness.
Palate: Med body, med acidity, high drying tannins, med length.

Another 2003 for my daughter’s birth year in honor of her Labor Day weekend visit. Never expecting anything amazing from this vintage but this was drinking very well. As others have mentioned, this needed every minute of the long decant. Decanted about 2.5 hrs and then continued drinking for another 2. Kept improving with more fruit intensity and more complexity coming through. Color was dark and nose was intense red fruits, dark cherries, some earthiness. Long finish.

Very interesting. Opened for 2 hours before drinking. Got better as night progressed Started really well then had moments when it seemed a little dry on the finish and then really opened up with long finish (after c6 hours).

Double decanted 1 hour prior to returning to bottle. No sediment. Drank alongside PNP Pousse Caillerets 05.
Deep dark purple color, brooding nose- a big wine. Boy was the decant appropriate if short still. Dark red currant, dark red cherry, anise, humus, background minerality, and a whiff of mint. Good wine, but, as one would expect with the vintage, certainly not an elegant burgundy!
Shout out to the excellent wine service and best menu I have had at Kali restaurant in Hollywood. On top of their game!
