It had a great start, complex nose and myriad flavors of soy, bacon, leather and mature fruit. Unfortunately, we opened and poured well before getting to it in earnest. Later, it was muddied and mudddled - brett I think.

A Year Later in Vero...; 3/17/2021-3/21/2021 (Vero Beach): This was just lovely. I don't think I've done much with this producer (one of the first times I remember trying) and in some tough company I found myself heading back. There's a lovely elegance and still power that for me is the hallmark of a good Rhone. Reasonable acid. Still quite young and needs more years, but it's a lovely wine. Will have to keep an eye out.

Took a long time to open up and the last taste was maybe the best. A more earthy and savory side of syrah. Good tension and structure. Approaching perfect timing, maybe a few more years. Unfortunately, I don't have any other bottles.

The purity of this wine shines through. It is light on its feet with fruit and acidity dancing on the palate and a small dose of black pepper. Drank it along with a 2002 Jadot Cazetiers , starting with the Jadot, and ending with the Texier, and there was balance in both wines and balance in the match up.

At the Breslin and a great pairing with its iconic lamb burger. Pure and juicy and remakably accessible. A pleasure and very fine.
