Alas, my last bottle of this wine! Lovely blend with strong apricot, honeydew and lychee fruit, good acidity and mineral content, a touch of oak note. Great balance and long finish.

Medium gold in color. Notes of orchard fruit, lemon curd, almond, honeysuckle. Dry and heavy on the palate. This has significant weight. The texture is buttery/oily, but no butter on the nose. Acid is medium. It lingers for wuite a while on the finish leaving your palate well coated. A beautiful winter white for me.

Wine lunch at Bocca di Lupo. Beautiful russet colour. Oxidative nose but also nutty, smoky, something subtly herby. Quite low acidity gives it a certain delicacy on the palate but still has some length, resolving to a note of very ripe orchard fruit. Very intriguing but what made this wine remarkable was the extraordinary though accidental pairing with pasta (pansotti) with foraged herbs, walnuts and cheese sauce. Improved the next day and did not deteriorate on day 3.

Drunk for dinner with roast chicken. Deep burnished gold. A full rich deep nose of honey and flowers - nectar! Some pear and a slight nuttiness developed with a bit if swirling. No sherry notes. Nose suggested sweetness but was bone dry. Quite mineral and stoney on the palate. Great length and lovely balance. A slight astringency crept onto the finish which just stopped this scoring higher. Quite an intellectual wine and definitely one to sip rather than swig!
