Great CdP. Medium/full bodied. Pours clear. Licorice, plum, berry nose. On the palate, red berries, red jubes and some gentle spiciness (more cinnamon and baking spices than anything else). I don't recall the price I paid, but I suspect great QPR.

Still drinking well, although third night under pump started to get a little pruney. But shows why I like CdeP profile; good dark fruit flavors, supporting structure and not tannic. But drink up.

Ripe and fat. It seems they either pushed the vine time or the extraction. Possibly both. I remember 06 being on the ripe side for S Rhone anyways but this is near the boundary for me. With more complexity or acidity this would have passed. Instead it's a pass. Lots of sediment and consistent over two nights. If you are betting on improvement it has the density to age longer. The structure is in question though.

Funky nose of mushrooms, garrigue, and cherry cola. Milder/body texture. Flavors of root beer and herbs. Sweet fruit, not funky on the palate like it is on the nose. Easy to drink, but lacking in complexity.

Double decanted, the wine had thrown a lot of sediment. Spice and red fruits on the nose. The colour is getting lighter with age garnet with bricking and very clean and bright. Lovely Grenache flavours, red fruit, earth and spice, still has good acidity and length. Still drinking really well.

(SENECHAUX CdP) Gems Dear Friends, It's the middle of the night in Paris but I've just confirmed this set of gems. All are EXTREMELY LIMITED at the prices below (including one of the lowest prices I've ever seen on Domaine des Senechaux). All have impeccable provenance: Have a good weekend everyone - - Jon Rimmerman ************************************** Featured Wine: Senechaux This property is now owned by the Cazes family of Lynch Bages and they are attempting to elevate the wine to the very top tier. Senechaux is an estate to watch closely over the next 3-5 years to see what develops. For now, this wine is on the way to us at a steal of a price - nearly 50% off. Yes, it's 2006 but the more I talk to the winemakers in the Rhone (over the past two weeks), the more I get the very firm idea that 2006 is one of their personal favorite vintages to drink. The quotes are something like: "2007 is for show, 2006 is for my dinner. Not that 2007 is bad, quite the opposite, it is an incredible, fantastic year but it is not a vintage of finesse - maybe in time, but tonight it is 2006 that captures my imagination". This is a full 750ml, not a 375ml: 2006 Domaine des Senechaux Chateauneuf-du-Pape 750ml STRICT LIMIT 12/person until we run out ************************************** 2005 Clos Figueres Priorat "Clos Figueres" STRICT LIMIT 6/person until we run out (this is not the Font de la Figueres, this is the Clos) 2005 Pintia (Vega Sicilia) Toro STRICT LIMIT 3/person until we run out Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Spain5487 Spain5488 Rhone3466 Click
