Rather disappointing! Nose of acetone, overripe fruit, sweet cherries and a lot of roasted spices. The palate is full bodied with sweet fruit, though slightly drying out, sweet and lacking some acidity to balance the wine. Lacks some freshness... Not a bad wine, but not as good, as when it was Young.
This wine didn't show well, candied fruit, and slight effervescence suggesting residual sugar and secondary fermentation in the bottle. I had this before and it was excellent, so I suspect this may be an off bottle. (Although I reviewed my last note, with same impression except that with 2 hrs it turned into a delicious wine- maybe I didn't wait long enough).
Dîner Rhône Sud: Un nez de fruit noir confit, d'anis, avec du poivre. En bouche, c'est cochon! Un vin dense, d'une bonne fraicheur, malgré sa richesse. Il a la gourmandise, mais aussi une belle complexité et un équilibre dans un style baroque, épicé. Excellent. Encore bien jeune mais agréable, sans doute à maturité dans 3 à 5 ans. 93 pts
