During a merchant tasting. Medium purple. Aromas of ripe berry, licorice, fruit compote. Soft and fruity on the palate, much sweeter then the Gallimardes from the same stable which I clearly prefer. Try for yourself which style you like.
Rather disappointing! Nose of acetone, overripe fruit, sweet cherries and a lot of roasted spices. The palate is full bodied with sweet fruit, though slightly drying out, sweet and lacking some acidity to balance the wine. Lacks some freshness... Not a bad wine, but not as good, as when it was Young.
This wine didn't show well, candied fruit, and slight effervescence suggesting residual sugar and secondary fermentation in the bottle. I had this before and it was excellent, so I suspect this may be an off bottle. (Although I reviewed my last note, with same impression except that with 2 hrs it turned into a delicious wine- maybe I didn't wait long enough).
