Too oaky upon opening, with an unpleasant bitterness and a woody finish. Not really enjoyable on its own, it also seems to need further ageing. Much better showing on the second night, in the company of good friends and proper food (steak of deer). 87-89

A bit to much oak and somewhat one dimensional. Less structured than you mihgt expect from a 2005.

Smoke, cherry, floral, cranberry and forest floor. Good structure and a nice 05 from Pommard.

Minneapolis Wine Club Does Burgundy (Beth's House): No detailed notes on this wine. Fairly similar to the Pommard Rugiens. Earth, florals, red fruits, nice balance.

Minneapolis Wine Club does Burgundy (Cote D'Or) (Beth's House): Nice finishing wine to a night of Burgundy with cherry, mild funk, spices, and floral notes. Medium finish and plenty of flavor. Well done.
