I have saved this wine for nostalgic value, it dates from when I owned the Asinocotto in Trastevere, Roma. Finally, for no good reason, I decided to pop it open and drink it, thinking it was probably vinegar, after all it was made to be drunk and not kept by the great Coppola. A great indeed, as this wonderful wine has all the freshness and colour and fruitiness of California Syrah and Zinfandel still alive and well. We gulped down a half a bottle in nothing flat, saving the rest for this evening's showing of Berlin Alexanderplatz, another vintage experience.
