I have begun drinking a number of these 2005 Double Diamonds and have found them not very good. This bottle has so far been the "best" one. Color is medium purple/red. Nose is less stewed fruit than some of the others, as there are still some fresh strawberry, blackberry elements here with some lingering oak, unmistakable California cab. Tannins have fallen away mostly but the wine is still held together somehow, and was quite pleasant (undecanted) over the course of the evening. Definitely needs to be drunk now, no waiting here - still hanging on. Not bad, but at this price point there are far better options out there.

This followed a Merus and a Dunn so a bit unfair, but well past its peak, little or no tannins, all fruit, cherries, plums, citrus zest, blueberries

Holding up nicely, tannins still there, can age more, cedar notes, dark fruits, pretty long finish

- It's somewhat balanced with a full body. Round texture with a medium finish - Nice plum, dark, rich fruits, not fully balanced, easy on the tannins
