very good wine, drank on Tiff's bday when the P Pernot Bienvenue Batard Montrachet '06 was pre-moxed, this was very good but rounder and richer than i prefer, nonetheless nicely made with decent acid, everyone loved it at the table
It starts with some smoke on nose, which gives way to lemon as it airs out. A nice balance of richness and mineraility and acidity, and while the oak is noticeable, it acts as a spice that complements the savoriness without overwhelming it.
This bottle seemed a little past its prime. There's some honeyed aromas and a rich palate weight, but there's a hint of oxidation on the finish, and a little heat from the alcohol. The wine also doesn't show much acidity. Maybe a bad bottle.
Served blind. Tropical fruit, lemon / minerality on the nose. Mid weight, lush, with nice acidity on the finish. I thought this wine was very 'puligny-like'. I think it would fool many in a blind tasting.
