  • Ruddy burgundy colour. Cool/menthol nose with leather, earth/mushrooms, orange peel. Medium-full bodied, with replays from nose. Lovely length. Drinking fine right now. Consume over the next 3-5 years.

  • nose: light nose with bits of cherries, slight florals, herbs, and some tar tones. fairly basic with not that much depth

taste: very light body with medium+ acidity and tones of red cherries, spices, and some herbs

overall: a fairly straightforward and simple barolo. The tannins and acid are in a good spot right now, but the nose just doesn't lift and get fully into the aromatics. A very good wine that's well made, but also a bit non-descript.

  • Similar notes to previous bottle. Lots of tar on the nose joined by dried roses and licorice. Medium bodied, good grip, with more tar, licorice, and truffle notes. Moderate-long finish. Consistently nice stuff. Drink now-2012.

  • Decanted ~1 hr. Medium-ruby colour. Aromas of earth, black plums, dried roses, licorice, and lots of tar. Medium-bodied, still good grip showing tar, licorice, truffle, and spice notes. Moderate-long finish, 35-40s, with dark fruit and spice notes.

  • Opaque dark ruby colour. Huge nose of chocolate, blackcurrant, dried roses, and tar. Medium-bodied, good grip, with chocolate, earth, truffle, animal fur, black cherry/kirsch, and black licorice. Moderate-long finish, ~40s, with dark fruit. Really, really nice - just entering its early drinking window. Nice layers of complexity to this wine.
