Absolutely superb. Perfect balance and maturity. Lots of fruit The wine looks purple colored. The legs are medium. There is light sediment in the bottle. It smells like raisin and red currant.

Chicago Wine Flock...Gary Opens Cali Cab (Chez Weber - Chicago IL): Tasted double blind in what turned out to be 1973 flight. group liked this wine, but i found it less interesting, seeming slightly green, simple and bitter. I understand the other bottle at the dinner was much better.

Caymus 1972 and 1973 (Flemings, Walnut Creek, Ca.): Lovely beet red color in the glass, nose of black currants, black berry, and wood, same on the palate, very tasty, big body, slightly tired, rich fruit, elegant old Caymus brings back memories of Charlie, long finish, pleasant aftertaste.

Wine Flock Intro-Retro Blind Tasting (Gary's home outside on the porch, Chicago IL): Pop and pour, '73 blind in a flight of 4. My table liked this a lot with 3 votes #1 and 1-#2. Outstanding color, strong nose and savory taste. With many of these wines their was btl variation.
