This is the Russian River Valley Chardonnay, not the Ritchie Vineyard - Ooops!! A: Clear, pale lemon with legs N: Spice, pear, vanilla, think pear pie ala mode P: Creamy, lots of white pepper, med acid, med body - creamy peppercorn dressing I was expecting this to be similar to the Auteur, but it was quite different. Much more like the Smith Madrone 2007. Somewhat lighter body overall that what I was expecting. Not what I would consider a big, Lazy Boy, California chard, but very very nice indeed. Elegant.

intense yet governable. follow my notes and my CA love is fading; yet a few still stand and this is amongst. Deep restrained and pleasurable. There is the fruit mineral interplay, smoke and floral, yet a certain X-factor proving again, Hobbs delivers. Exemplary.

Delicious and complex with multilayered nose and palate. Good acid and very slightly tart tannins on a nice long finish.
