  • Excellent white wine ... a blend of 75% Chardonnay, 15% Viognier and 10% Sauvignon Blanc. Bought at the Bedell winery on Long Island last year. The nose was wonderfully pleasing with aromas of peach, apricots, vanilla and a hint of oak and floral tones. Absolutely delicious and flavorful fruity taste that was well-textured. Nicely balanced acidity with a lingering, slightly minerally finish. Wish I had bought more! The bottle is unique with the base recessed so you can put your thumb up into the base -- allowing ease of pouring.

New York Cork Report

  • By Lenn Thompson
1/1/2009, (See more on New York Cork Report...) 3.5 out of 5 stars

(Bedell Cellars White Blend Gallery) It is a blend of chardonnay, viognier and sauvignon blanc and the nose is expressive with super-ripe peach and apricots up front with vanilla, faint toasted oak, baking spice and fresh flowers layered behind. Extremely flavorful and well textured, it fills the mouth with spiced apricot and peach pie flavors, lemon zest, hints of mango, vanilla and sweet oak. There is terrific balancing acidity here that should give this some longevity and a lingering, slightly minerally finish stands out.
