Dinner at Noize: Similar to my previous experiences with this producer, was mentioning to those present that I was fooled by this to be a Meursault a couple of times before and they were in agreement. Rich and creamy but the the oak was fully integrated, some woolly notes on the nose and palate. So pale and fresh for its age, haven’t had any issues with this producer for premox.

Dinner with Melvin (Noize): Really good. Fresh and fun, with the oak nicely integrated after all these years in bottle, and no trace of oxidation. Quite an interesting nose that seemed to change in the glass, including grassy and tobacco notes. Airy on the palate, herbal, some quince and a creaminess both of flavour and texture. Didn't scream Chablis (we agreed that, blind, we'd have been in Meursault), but an excellent wine - at peak?

This was lovely. A clear step up from the 2007 Dauvissat Vaillons we drank alongside. The nose was pure Les Clos, with notes of cream, white fruit and stony minerality with just a bit of florals at the edges of the bouquet. Like the Vaillons though, it was the palate on the wine that was the star - absolutely integrated and beautifully balanced, with soft, lemony acidity wrapped around a core of white fruit, creamy and spicy, mineral notes, this was drinking perfectly now. Nice finish too, long and lingering, filling every crevice of the mid and back-palate with spicy notes spiked with some citrussy zest. Very nice indeed.
