Italy's indigenous answer to Gamay. Aubergine in color, surprisingly deep for a 12% alc wine. Aromas are grapey and plummy with a touch of earthiness, all echoed in the flavors. Not as long finish, but juicy. Great with roast chicken, trattoria food.
