Lots of sediment and doesn't need any air just a carafe to separate the sediment ideally with a gauze filter. I found this stunning and one of the rare occasions that I have drunk a wine at its true zenith. No tannins at all, just pure, velvety black stone fruits (particularly plums) with a dash of leather and funk in an aromatic glass and mouth filling extravaganza. Still very dark but the tannins are fully resolved and it went beautifully with a shepherd's pie. Drink up and enjoy this old world gem!
Really brilliant; after two tired bottles this one (my last?) showed lots of finesse, complexity, minerality and balance, in short, sheer perfection, power and satin tannins. The colour of the wine was great, no trace of brown, vivid, lovely.
