Another beautiful experience with this one. I was shocked by the cork - soaked through, crumbly. First there was a hint of cork on the nose too, but it disappeared after a few seconds... The rest was a very nice, old Bdx-experience: mushrooms, cheese, wet earth, cedar. It improves with 1 hour of air. Fresh, very drinkable, mid length, even some cherry-notes in the background, melted tannins, nice structure on the palate. Even if this was not a well-stored bottle simply stunning QPR and a proof, that 1990 is one of the best vintages ever (IMHO). 93-94

Could copy CMOORE64's note below! This one is stunning! Had it with some friends next to a Pape Clement 2003. Every one was shocked in a positiv way! After PnP you could not tell which one was younger or better - Just a little bit more brown to orange color and a little bit more light weighted, this one had an extraordinary fresh character on the nose. Typical fresh left-side aromas, no barnyard! For me it was just 1 single point below the Pape Clement because of the better development over 3-4 hours of the PC. Compairing the price of the 2 bottles, Gloria is outstanding in Price/Quality! I think you should drink it now right after opening the bottle. No decant needed.

A private dinner (Restaurant De Lage Vuursche, Lage Vuursche, NL): From a cold and humid cellar, this shows the importance of first-rate storage conditions. Level into neck. Mature, smoky, ripe acidity, warm red berry fruit, gravel, good concentration, complex and layered, silky tannins, classic claret from a warm year, mature but energetic, hint of honey, medium body, papery tannins, very good resonance and length. Easily GCC level.

Decanted 2 hours but really showed best a few more into it. Some mold under the foil but cork in good shape. Muted earthy nose with must that showed age. Lean wine, but more fruits than I expected, silky tannins, typical left bank characteristics hidden behind some age. Really nice and glad I cellared, but drink up on this!
