At first opening, I thought this wine was done. But after an hour in the glass holy cow. Still good stuff. Floral notes on the top nose with camphor and spice. Spicy, cherry, chocolate notes. Long finish.

Overpowering nose of black licorice and black pepper, which carries through to the taste. Also picking up some espresso coffee, tar, graphite, smoke. Not much fruit at all. Probably past its prime, although I cannot testify to the provenance of the bottle (it was a gift I brought back from Chile). Interesting, but not typical of a Cuvee Alexandre cabernet. Perhaps with the right food pairing - I am thinking BBQ ribs with a tangy sauce - this might be OK. Not the best choice for my Father's Day filet mignon.

Color is very dark and rich. Almost port-like qualities on first tasting. Lots of chocolate notes in the palate. As time went on it softened up into coffee like flavors with soft tannins. It continued to morph into a blueberry jam. Interesting profile with significant changes!

Drank with Bridgett last night while watching the Blind Side. Don't remember details, so no score. Do remember dark color, viscous, pretty aromas of dark fruit. Tasted anise, fruit and char. Medium finish. It was good.
