Decanted to remove the plentiful solids in this wine. It takes a long time to open and shed the Castoria taste that this wine initially presents. After about an hour or more it tasted of deep red fruit, spice, and a bit of cocoa. Very delicious.
D1h. Dark red, beginning to turn yellow on the rim, 6. Initially one dimensional and a bit green bouquet, but during the evening it opened up into a classic CS showing ripe blackcurrant, mint, spices, and this green herbal character behind it all. Harmonious racy palate, intense dark fruits, still some tannin and a bitter finish that worked well with the food. Drink now -2020. This is certainly much better than the previous bottle I had three weeks ago. If it wasn't for the sun ripe fruit on the palate I could have taken this for a Bdx. This wine is in its early drinking window and will probably stay there for many years.
