  • Medium deep brick red.
    Aromas of plum jam, cassis, cedar, thyme, wet tarmac, chocolate and forest floor.
    Finely grained, dry tannins. Blackcurrant lively acids and black coffee bitterness.
    Palate of blackcurrant jam, coffee, leather, truffle and heather.
    A mature, rustic and yet elegant Bordeaux with slightly unripe fruit, beautiful tertiary aromas and vivacious bitter herbaceous finish. Drink within 5-7 years.
    Tasted alongside Leoville Barton 1994 and the matched wine has deeper and more complex fruit and is slightly more powerful yet as elegant as the present wine.

  • Still dark and ruby red, no bricking at all. Warm stewed forest fruits nose, refined, liquorice and sweetness, great opening. Austere opening tasting, strict redcurrant framework, very good. After an hour or so in the decanter, still dry tannic overlay, fruit is good although restrained and would be great with a steak (has with Christmas pork so not quite right). Straightlaced and like it, but find it begins to fade quite quickly. To me this shows it is good to go now and should be drunk quite soon, and only after a shortish decant.

  • from magnum , mature just at the right point , the format for sure help. just removed the cork 5 hours before , anyway at the beginning close but with time started to shine with red fruits , pencil , earth , spicies. Quite a long finish. In the regular 0.75 format is a wine to drink soon , in mgn is possible to hold some more years

  • 中石榴红色,闻香有明显的肉鲜,山楂和李子一类的香气,入口酸度中高,单宁细腻如粉,有明显矿物感,淡淡青味,黑果香气,香料感占据主导,伴随巧克力的香气,余味非常复杂,辛香料味中带着一点果香。一款口感咸鲜,严肃风格的老酒。虽然上了年纪,但状态非常好,能感受到长时间陈年的特点,又没有疲态,非常健康。盲品喝的,很明显是一款波尔多风格的酒,从酒的健壮程度来看,我觉得应该是右岸的波混。

  • Fully Mature (drink NOW), classically styled Bordeaux that is showing about as well as it can at this final stage of its life. Mostly tertiary aromas and flavors dominate strongly (leather, woody and tobacco leaf spices). Trace amounts of fruit left, which only show themselves after 90 minutes of decant. Tannins are fully resolved, HEAVY sediment at this point that is not settling, and a brick brownish color (logical given the sediment levels). Dry comfortable alcohol levels at 12.5%. Medium bodied, Quick finish but overall decently enjoyable. I would have preferred this 5-7 years ago where I believe it would have showed a truly balanced grace.
