Quite nice, but a vaster difference in maturity than expected vs. a bottle four years ago. This registered as quite mature and all about the tertiary stuff, with any of the original fruit firmly in the back seat if not the trunk. Which is generally delightful, but wasn't the best choice with our Peking Duck dinner: a younger fruitier Pomerol or other Merlot wine would've been a better match.

Medium/deep garnet core, pale garnet rim. Nose is complex with spicy, sweet mellow red fruits, touch of plum, notes of earth and cream. Medium bodied on the palate, spicy, mellow red-toned fruit, very fine soft tannins, balanced acidity, very good length slightly savoury finish with just a touch of remaining grip. Altogether an excellent, mature Pomerol for drinking over the next 5-7 years.

Beyond it s peak: looses lots of flavors; still a mature, though weakened Bordeaux; weak support from tasting group.

Heavenly. Brought to a Bastille Day celebration and it was chosen as the best bottle of the night!
