Tuesday Night Double Blind $40+ (Bin 75): Crimson showing some age; aged on the nose but still sweet candied fruit, leather and cherry; richness on mid-palate, the richest Pinot so far, ripest too, some alcohol on finish; initially called this as Morey St. Denis then got talked in to calling a well made New World Pinot with some age- alcohol was strong; not sure of this wine's ability to age.
Funky nose...brett most likely. Citrus, tea and earth. Some fruit, but the funk overtakes it. Drinkable, but not very likable at this point. Maybe in five years time this will straighten out, but I'm not sure. Disappointing.
