| | Tasted by Patton on 1/10/2010 & rated 87 points: Wonderful wine. Light and soft in comparison to a Bordeaux. Smooth and velvety texture with a delicious taste of blackberries. A little on the dry side, but the various blends smooths out the cabernet sauvignon and the result is delicious. Cheers! (378 views) |
| | Tasted by wadcorp on 12/23/2009: Getting tart cherry out of this, along with a little currant. Doesn't seem as full as the 2004 or 2005, which was a surprise. Thought this as a good "daily drinker", but can't say that for this vintage. Maybe there will be a return to form with the 2006. (503 views) |
| | Tasted by wineywhites on 12/13/2009 flawed bottle: While the cork seemed sound, this bottle seemed off to me. Not sure why, but thin, tart, and mostly not drinkable. (638 views) |
| | Tasted by Larsois on 11/15/2009 & rated 90 points: One of my favourites. Full bodied Cabernet Sauvignon american style. Good with the roastbeef I had with my friends that evening. (819 views) |
| | Tasted by jenesuispasunsnob on 10/6/2009 & rated 88 points: I know this wine is pver-promoted a bit, but I tried to step away from all that and judge it for myself. I really liked this wine. the dark fruit was a little indistinguishable, but I actually did taste some Pomegranate in there. For me, since i often have to stretch a bottle into 2-3 days, I was impressed with how will it held up in the fridge with some gas during that period. . (1115 views) |

Winemaker's Notes
The 2006 vintage marks the frst year we produced Claret at our new home in Sonoma County. Being able to craft the wine from start to fnish at our own facility helps us heighten the quality-level of Claret even further. The growing season was long and cool in 2006 with moderate temperatures. We didn’t start harvesting until after Labor Day, a winemaker’s dream. Our frst Cabernet came in from El Dorado County on September 26th
and the grapes were some of the best we’ve ever harvested. An early indication of grape quality is color in the fermentor and in 2006 we had plenty. After Cabernet Sauvignon came Malbec and Petit Verdot, both delivering exceptional color, weight and structure. Perhaps, most exciting for us was the fact we could source Merlot and Cabernet Franc this vintage from our Estate vines in Geyserville. As 2006 marks the frst year
we blended in fruit from the Estate, we were extremely pleased to fnd that the quality of the fruit surpassed our expectations.

California Wines (Wine Institute of California)
California is one of the most diverse wine regions in the world, with almost 100 grape varieties grown in almost 10 viticultural areas, including dozens of different microclimates and soil types, as well as a very individualistic set of winemakers, many with international experience, which adds to and deepens that diversity.
