An extraordinary wine and quite contradictory. How does the nose smell of both green nettle gooseberry and tropically fruited honey at the same time? And how does this carry onto the palate with added complexities of minerality? And why have I got no more bottles?!? Ah yes, the price! Beg, borrow or steal if you must, and you really must. At least I still have the 2005.
A fruity, flowery bouquet that also sports a bit of diesel fumes. On the palate, the oak treatment steps forward a little bit and the whole creation has mellow acids and a very youthful feeling. The finish is abrupt and the wine doesn't fly. Quite delicious but no cigar.
This is the kind of wine where you need to just take a moment, collect yourself, and simply enjoy. The complexity and depth of this wine is phenomenal. Flowers, quince, honeysuckle, mineral, beeswax, almond, flint – it’s all there, and it all comes through prominently from the glass & on the palate. This has great density, but with a freshness and cut that is amazing. Such an enjoyable experience.

This was the first wine poured. Pale yellow. Scents of white flowers (jasmine), tropical fruits (pineapples, pears). In between, there seemed to be a whiff of kerosene as well. Bone dry on palate - stones, lime. This was fresh, focused and long. It got even more stunning after more than an hour in the glass. Stupendous Sauv Blanc! Great match with the "small-eats" (小吃) we had...

(Didier Dagueneau Pouilly-Fumé Silex) Light yellow color; focused, lifted, minerally and light oily, floral and stone fruit nose; big, rich entry, tight, but ripe and detailed stone fruit, with elegance and a shimmering tail; medium-plus finish 94+ pts.
