  • The best days for this 67 Palmer were at least 15-20 years ago. Not sure what the inflated 93+ scores here are all about.

Perfectly stored bottle from what I'm told. Fill just ever so slightly below base neck. Extremely light in color compared to the 77 Stags Leap Lot 2 next to it. This had thin notes, a thin body, and never really picked up weight. Came across like a mediocre Napa Cab that was well past its prime. No signs of Margaux here. I'm sure the vintage didn't help, either. Ah well.

  • This beautiful old lady has given me more pelasure over the years than any other wine. Just because, like, me, she is getting a tad rickety I will not desert her now. I have had so many wonderful memories of this wonderful drop, but none more so than at the chateau with Frank Mahler Besse in 1983 when he served it following the ineffable 1966. Most thought it had to be the 1961 because it was appreciably better, and when it was revealed oohs and ahhs reverberated around the table. Palmer was, I think, by far the best Bordeaux in 1967 and she was a grande dame in the truest sense. Je tu salut, Ma chere.

  • Quite amazing for a 53-year old, but showing its age and on the decline. Not quite brick red with copper and salmon coloration on the edge. Initial nose of cave which blew off quickly. Leather, tannins mostly gone, fruit faded. Decanted, trace of sediment. Improved after 45 minutes, but peaked at about 90 minutes and then faded away.

  • Cloudy. Dark red but brown hues. Old school. Black fruits. Lean and acidic. This was served blind, so when unveiled. Wow. Unbelievable. How is this 50 years old? Shared by DrK at Nadodi.

  • Kork halber cm eingesunken, ging schön in einem Stück raus. mid shoulder.
Nase Katastrophe, wollte ihn gar nicht trinken, oxid.
    Farbe granatrot.
