  • Ordered this bottle at Columbia Restaurant Ybor in Tampa. Some sediment. Perhaps a little thin on the mid-palate, but excellent finish to make up for it. Still some fruits giving it life, but the tannins are thoroughly mellowed. If you have any of these sitting around it's probably time to drink up.

  • Encore très boisé à l'ouverture. Le vin s'est assoupli après 45 minutes. Peut encore attendre quelques années.

  • Man, I love this stuff. Cork was in perfect condition, and there was no sediment to speak of, so this must have been bottled recently and/or filtered. Decanted two hours. The nose has an aged Cab smell, with a healthy dose of that earthy leathery Rioja funk. Absolutely delicious. The oak and tannins have almost completely melted away. Very little fruit, but it's not at all dried out. Perfect age. There's a subtle creamy richness and sweetness in the body, but this isn't at all overripe. Nice acidity. This is a truly beautiful wine, a steal for $22, and a felony on clearance for $11.

  • Another bottle with a lot of character: nose of pasture and herbs, good fruit on the palate, mid to long finish. Very pleasant and easy to drink. I like the bottles with higher acidity.

  • Another bottle, and a completely different composition. Unlike the other bottle, the color has not deviated from a deep purple. Mineral nose with hints of violets and lavender. Acidity is way higher, giving this wine a much perkier taste. Rasperry, cherry, plum on the palate. Long finish of dark fruit. Still plenty of acidity and tannins to keep it alive.
