Through the Heart of France; 11/17/2013-11/25/2013 (Centre, Aubrac, Languedoc and Paris): Light yellow. Almost overwhelming vanillin at first, but this calms down to make its presence felt on the texture more than the favors. Great youthful grapefruit with tremendous acidity and cut. Not entirely knitted just yet, but I think that this is the right sort of vintage for Edmond to sing-with the wood, too ripe and rich doesn't work so well.

France Trip-Loire Valley and Paris; 10/22/2012-10/28/2012: Fairly pale. Assertively grassy Sauvignon nose with unusual nuttiness. Fresh and lean for this cuvee, excellent acidity and drive. It fleshes out with air and shows little wood until a hint of vanilla comes out late.

Drank at "Petit Sommelier" restaurant, Athens, Greece, over a sea-food dinner. Very elegant and attractive nose with honeysuckle, ripe peaches and minerals. Light-bodied and somewhat hollow on the palate, with minerality and high acidity. The palate did not live up to what I expected given the gorgeous nose, but overall an elegant sancerre.
