We finished this wine within one hour of decanting. It's drinking beautifully now that the tannin has softened. I enjoyed this more than the 2016 Sassicaia which was served after this. Perhaps the Sassicaia was too young and has yet to blossom but this was way better in terms of structure and intensity.

Expensive! Not sure it was worth the wine list price at Zaffareno. Was nice but lacked depth. Excellent structure and fruit, but seemed like something was missing. Maybe still too young?

Cloudy garnet colour. Mushrooms, earth, soy sauce, leather. Too tertiary already. Most likely prematurely aged. Poor provenance. Heat damage?
