Lots of cigar box when I decanted it ... still there in the glass as well. It's getting a little port-y in its dotage, but it's still quite a pleasant pour. Rich, velvety fruit, soft tannins.

If you have bottles of this remaining in your collection, fear not ... it's still eminently drinkable. This is a fairly hot wine, but I didn't notice the alcohol at all.

Dark ruby color with very slight bricking. A big cherry nose with some blackberry and hints of sweet tobacco. Cherry on the palate with the tobacco showing in the finish. Great acidity and still has a nice tannin structure.

Pop and pour. A peppery nose dominates--not as much berry fruits as most Merlots. Some acid and light tannins. Cedar, licorice and pepper flavors. Not much fruit that I typically look for in a Merlot. Medium finish.

Clear dark red. Red fruit nose, with some cinnamon. Bing cherries, plums, sweet tannins, and a medium finish with a hint of licorice. Smooth, fruity but not jammy, well balanced, and very good.
