This wine was all about balance - everything was perfectly in place and the overall impression was just elegant. Per the back label, all the fruit came from the Eisele Vineyard. Given how good this was, I can only imagine was the first wine is like. The last glass was the best, so a 45 minute decant might be warranted.

(Araujo Estate Altagracia) Deep garnet, with a magenta rim. An initial spicy-mineral quality on the nose yields to notes of plum, blackberry, cassis, chocolate, bacon, and a bit of bell pepper. The warm palate adds graphite and French oak, moderate acidity, and firm, structured tannins. Terroir: Eisele Vineyard
