PnP, drank over a six hour window for Mrs. Chugwine's 36th birthday celebration, side by side with a 2018 Ultramarine and 2008 Salmon. This was the best bottle, everything was settled and in balance. Perfect amount of mousse (more than I expected), notes of pie crust, graham cracker, light cinammon. Coating of the mouth on the palette with good acidity. Long finish. This is a great example of what aged champagne can be. The key is finding bottles that are stored properly, the trickiest with Champagne. Not your everday drinker, but will shine bright on those special occassions!

blind Surprisingly fresh and at his peak. Bubbles, lemon, tea buiscuit and only some hints after mint chocolate as you usally have in old Grande Dames. 94-95

Pure red apple and (lightly grilled?) lemon, or maybe it's all just SLIGHTLY bruised red apple. No ginger/spice dimension as noted 6 wks ago, this is focused, crisp and pure with a finish lasting for minutes. Hits me as a "Wow!" wine, one of the most impressive Champagnes I've had in quite some time. Don't foresee this necessarily improving from here, yet will easily remain at this level another 10-15 yrs.

Wonderful effervesence and tall mousse. Red apple, lemon, and ginger showcased on a very crisp and uplifted palate. Drink now, but will easily hold at this level for another decade, or longer.

Beautiful nose with notes of apple blossom. Acidity is mellow, then mousse, more apples, some vanilla, fine bubbles - this was a very good vintage champagne. Bottle 1/3.
