This was brought to room temp from the cellar for a few weeks. Decanted 1-2 hours. Paired with grilled ribeye steak and the compliment was spectacular! And got better an hour later. This was a home run mature, smooth full bodied red. Silky. Moderate duration, not overtly powerful but it was noticed in the pallet. Truly , a pleasure to drink

8th Annual Holiday Dinner and Cellar Raid - A Month Late (Naperville, IL): Part of wine dinner and cellar raid so did not take detailed notes. Although this was a 2005 Napa, it wasn't part of the original flight. In the spirit of that flight someone chose this to open this. Great choice and it was drinking very well. I've had many vintages of this collaboration and have always been impressed, and surprised others aren't talking about it.

Had a bottle early in its life and liked it but it was very fruity and young. Kept this. Wish I had kept more. With maturity the fruit evolved to smooth old world style depth. Can't wait for more time to open if it lasts in the decanter.

Twelve years later it’s still exceptional!! Needs an hour decant to really come to life, tannins are well integrated.
