I was really impressed with this wine. I've had Southern Oregon tempranillos in the past and this one seems like something special. I don't have any detailed notes from when I drank it but I remember it being exceptionally smooth start to finish. No jarring tart or tannic flavors. I would prefer this to the Abacela 2005 Tempranillo Umpqua Cuvee.

This wine has everything a new world tempranillo should. The nose is full of resounding earth and fruit with ethereal spice, I could breathe this wine in for many moments. But alas, with tasting, it hit my every taste bud with tremendous full throttle. This wine is full bodied, but not over done, like many S. Oregon wines tend to be (i.e. too jammy, lacking acidity/balance). It's evidently the Del Rio proximity with the cool evenings/nights that the grapes in this wine were privileged to bask in and retain their acidity & full flavors of mixed berries, coffee, raisins, plum, cherry, toast and mocha. It's an amazing balance. For $30 it's about the right price, but I would not be surprised if after a few notable reviews, the price will accelerate. So, get it now, while it's good and affordable! It's drinking very well now, but half a decade in optimum cellar temperature will certainly not hurt.

Very good. I agree that this is better than the Abacela. Very well balanced with blueberries, oak, spice and a medium length finish.
