(#4 of 6 bought on release, excellent fill and sound GC cork} A little reticent in terms of the nose to start, good body and length, some dark-fruits, elegance, nose more open than palate at the 90 minute mark. Maraschino cherries and leather,* spiciness, earthy elements. No small amount of complexity. Rated 92 for most of the night and then upped to 93. Still some upside to this wine but pretty much there.

Opened just a bit tight, and slightly disjointed. However you could tell all the makings were there for a good/great wine. Left 2/3 in the bottle for another hour or two and it all came together for a little while. Then came back apart a bit after another hour in glass. Next bottle will slow ox 4-6 hours

Chez Dalluge Celebrates The 25th Anniversary of The French Laundry (Chez Dalluge, MN): Medium dark red color. Decanted for 1 hour; drank a glass over an hour. Wow, this just blew me away this evening. This had a gloriously floral perfume infused with ground spices and forest floor. Bright red fruits abound on a medium body, with savory mushroom and spice, a well integrated and earthy gem. Loved it and in agreat spot.

Drinking like classic aged burgundy. Makes me want to own more 2006s than I already do. Loved the mature nose with is forest floor mushroom thing combined with fading red fruit. 12/13yrs old drinking more 15+. Very nice tonight at Dalluge's epic Thomas Kelller anniversary dinner.

(ECHEZEAUX Jadot) Burgundy Dear Friends, A few noteworthy red Burgundy's are set to arrive and they represent the magic that separates this region from the rest of the wine-world. While $150 for a bottle of wine is a large investment, this parcel of the cr_me-de-la-cr_me runs the gamut of tactile and tertiary impressions on the mind and on the palate. Fresh off tonight's Burghound (where 2006 Echezeaux, in general, was singled out for its exemplary success) this special lot should engage even the most jaded - all at prices that are very competitive.
