David Wainwright's Big Birthday Celebration with Friends & Wine (1243 Bourgogne Society - Beaune): In Jadot Amoureuses 96/00/06 vertical. Magnum opened an hour before serving, but this needed much more air (or many more years in the cellar). Black and red berries galore with subtle spice and great concentration. Textures come across as firm making this mostly austere, but more elegant and Chambolle-like on the finish. Patience required.

Slow ox for 10 hours. Nose has velvets, perfume, red fruit and oak. Palate has lots of density and intensity reflecting the terroir. Good structure with grippy tannins. But the oak component still needs lots of time to resolve. The finish is medium plus. Still too young. Give this five more years. Promising potential.

Decanted four hours. Continued to open up over the next two. Beautiful balance, with deep fruit on the palate. Developing nose. A juicy, mouth filling burgundy with some pretty red fruits and a very long and clean finish. Can go several more years, was much better after all of the air than the taste was right after opening.

Friday after Thanksgiving (FAT) - Part 1 - Burgundy 2006 (Palm Beach Gardens FL): Small taste, brief note. Tasted approx 2 hours after opened. All red fruit, background spice. Combined elegance and textured beautifully with power on finish. Moderate length. With hindsight, this came across very much like the Musigny did on day 2.

(AMOUREUSES Jadot) Burgundy Dear Friends, A few noteworthy red Burgundy's are set to arrive and they represent the magic that separates this region from the rest of the wine-world. While $150 for a bottle of wine is a large investment, this parcel of the cr_me-de-la-cr_me runs the gamut of tactile and tertiary impressions on the mind and on the palate. Fresh off tonight's Burghound (where 2006 Echezeaux, in general, was singled out for its exemplary success) this special lot should engage even the most jaded - all at prices that are very competitive. This parcel is directly from the source: 2006 Maison Louis Jadot Echezeaux Grand Cru (BH91-93) 2006 Maison Louis Jadot Bonnes Mares Grand Cru (BH91-94) 2006 Maison Louis Jadot Les Amoureuses 1er (BH91-93) 2006 Maison Louis Jadot Le Musigny Grand Cru (BH92-95) Thank you, Jon Rimmerman Garagiste Seattle, WA Burg7734 Burg7735 Burg7736 Burg7737
