BORGOGNA 2015; 2/22/2015-3/22/2015: Tasting at the domaine. Gomma bruciata, peperoni arrosto ed erbe aromatiche. Naso maturo e tanto spazio alla terziarizzazione dei raspi. Bocca soave e morbida, medio corpo sostenuto dalla grana tannica.
A Ledbury lunch (The Ledbury): Bright ruby. Lovely nose, dark red fruit, spice and an almost rose-like florality. Sweet-fruited attack, really quite round and lush and giving. Densely silky texture. A little more exuberant than the 02 Ruchottes alongside, currently a good-time rather than cerebral wine, but none the worse for that. Quite the opposite. This is satisfying and sexy and with a more serious core of dark red fruit, ripe tannins and fresh acidity for the future. It's great fun now though. ****1/2
AW's birthday dinner (Jade Palace): Another pretty wine. Perfumed nose, plenty of spices too. Red-fruited profile on palate. Good fruit-weight (flavorful) - silky, lithe and elegant at the same time. I liked the Vogue BM for its exoticness, and this for its beauty.
Translucent ruby. Pretty floral and dark fruited nose. Can only be a Vosne. Great intensity on the spice infused palate though still maintains its airiness. Not a big scaled wine but lithe on its feet. Extremely transparent for the vintage. Very seductive and balanced, and I can now understand why Dujac is so popular.
